BAD GRAPHICS & THE WORLD OF
WONDERFUL COLOR

Color is not necessary for a combination of text and graphics to be obnoxious or hard to read as demonstrated in the following example:

If you are willing to increase the size of the font and its style, you should be able to come up with something legible. In this example, I increased the font to +3 and tagged it for bold which thickens the lines of the letters.

For maximum legibility in this particular case, I felt it best to completely separate the graphics from the text. This graphic, simple as it is just isn't suited for text background. Hmm, can there possibly be a need for a good graphics design page?

In the previous example, I had to do some fenagling.
In most browsers, (I will not say all, because who knows what out there I've not tried.) a background image has priority over a background color. In my particular browsers, at least, Netscape 4.7 and Explorer 5, this holds true if there is a background for table cells and one which calls for a background color. I made a light blue image and used it as a tiled background for the cell with text.

We like splashes of color

We like to see color in swatches, usually and not just motes of it here and there. On the next page, I consider the meanings of color.
